Sansa was abandoned just because she was born different

Sansa was born with rare condition heterochromia (two different eye colors) and some extra toes on her front and hind paws. She was found wandering the streets of NYC and taken to a local shelter.

Her rescuers reported that Sansa was rejected because of her “weird” looks and that she was thrown out by her former owners.

As a result of such cruel abandonment, Sansa suffers panic attacks, something her new family would have to deal with on a daily basis.

Sansa was put up for adoption and thanks to her incredible uniqueness it didn’t take her long to find a new home.

“My husband and I met Sansa at a cat adoption event in New York City … my eyes kept being drawn to Sansa’s cage” her new mom said.

It was a seemingly empty cage with a sign that said the cat inside suffered from anxiety and had been neglected and eventually thrown out by her previous owners.

‘Turns out the cage was not empty – she was simply hiding.” Karen said.

‘We were informed that her foster family desperately wanted her adopted because she was so anxious all the time that she needed to be kept in a carrier,’ Karen added.

” I felt an immediate connection to her because I suffer from anxiety myself, and I knew that I wanted her to be a part of our family before I even saw her.’ she added.

Karen and her husband adopted Sansa and brought her home two days later but it took a long time for Sansa to trust her new family. She was always fearful and would hide behind the TV console whenever the door opened and only came out for food.

Shortly after she came home, her mom realized Sansa exhibited strange behaviors in which her back would ‘roll’ uncontrollably, followed by her attacking her tail multiple times a day and she seemed to be in pain .

Since they could not understand such behaviour, they decided to record her episodes to show the vet and after some tests, she was eventually diagnosed with FHS (Feline Hyperesthesia Disorder) which is a type of anxiety.

She was put on different drugs but none seemed to be that effective. Pet CBD oil finally helped curb Sansa’s episodes.

Not only beautiful Sansa found a new home and a loving family but also her way to Internet fame! Since she was rehomed, she’s attracted thousands of fans on social media.

Her mom, Karen, said : “There’s nothing “weird” about Sansa. On the contrary, many people have expressed how much they love her uniqueness with her different colored eyes and extra toes.”
