George, 27: A Life of Love
April 23, 2026Bombay, his legacy lives on!

Meet Bombay, a stunning Lynx Point Siamese mix whose striking blue eyes, and unbreakable spirit quickly won the hearts of people all over the world.
Jeannie adopted him from the Cat Care Society after someone had abandoned him at a racetrack. He arrived sick, covered in fleas, and in desperate need of care—but Jeannie saw something special in him right away.
As a kitten, Bombay had a virus that was believed to be treated, but at around 18 months old, his health took a frightening turn. He began falling over and soon lost the ability to walk.
Determined to help him, Jeannie took him from vet to vet, refusing to give up as they searched for answers. Tests revealed that Bombay’s bones were developing holes, and he was also diagnosed with toxoplasmosis.
Despite multiple medications, his condition worsened. X-rays showed continued deterioration in his legs, and even specialists couldn’t explain why this was happening.
Jeannie didn’t stop.
She kept pushing for answers and better care. She brought Bombay back to the shelter to consult with a new veterinarian, who ran every possible test. Although no clear diagnosis emerged, they determined that Bombay suffered from bone loss and polyarthritis.
His paws remained constantly swollen, and his condition required ongoing, intensive treatment. Jeannie committed herself fully to his care. She managed his daily prednisone, made sure he received weekly Adequan injections, and faithfully took him to acupuncture and laser therapy appointments. Her dedication never wavered.
Slowly, Bombay began to improve.
Against all odds, he regained the ability to walk. He would never run or jump again, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying life.
Jeannie adapted their home for him, placing steps throughout the house so he could reach his favorite chair and stretch out in the sun—one of his favorite simple joys.
Veterinarians who met Bombay often expressed amazement that he could even stand, let alone walk. While his condition remained a mystery, one thing was always clear: Bombay’s strength reflected the unwavering love and devotion of his mom.
