December 30, 2022At 22 years old, Thelma was surrendered to a shelter
Thelma was surrendered to a shelter, at the ripe old age of 22.
At her age, she deserved to be spending her twilight years in a comfortable and loving home but instead she ended up living behind the cold bars of a shelter kennel.
Her family surrendered her to their local shelter and claimed they were no longer able to afford her vet care due to the rising costs of living.

Sweet Thelma was just skin and bones and missing patches of fur when she arrived at the shelter.
At the vets, they were able to shave off all the matted fur and give her a luxurious spa treatment that she so deserved. Thelma was also treated for a urinary tract infection.
Thanks to the power of social media and shelter volunteers, Thelma was able to leave the shelter that very same day she was surrendered and start a new chapter of her life in a foster home with plenty of food, warm blankets, soft pillows and fluffy toys to play with.

Thelma is a love-bug and she’s very affectionate towards everyone who has helped her.
She loves sharing the big bed with her foster family, and adores every moment she spends with them.
