Emotional reunion of Ukrainian boy and his missing cat

Overnight, this Ukrainian boy’s life changed and he had to leave the life as he knew it behind. He could get used of the idea of losing his home, his school, and his friends … but not his cat.

Very little is known about this young boy nor how exactly he managed to get a hold of his lost cat but the photo of their emotional reunion went immediately viral on the internet.

The boy and his family were among the millions of Ukrainians fleeing their country, looking for a safe place for them and their pets.

The family had arrived safely at the Polish border with their beloved cat in a carrier but, at some point, amid chaos and despair, the carrier got crushed, their cat broke free and got lost amongst hundreds of Ukrainian people who were also trying to cross the border.

The heartbroken boy refused to continue his trip without his furry friend and many joined him in the search to find his beloved cat.

Eventually, the gorgeous Russian Blue cat was tracked down and brought back to the boy’s arms as he broke down in tears and hugged his cat tight.

As many innocent children continue to suffer the devastating consequences of war, the emotional reunion of this young boy and his beloved cat became a symbol of hope and love amid so much pain and destruction.
