Distribution centers and a large number of pet shops have been destroyed by Russian airstrikes since the war started and pet supplies are at risk of running out.
Hundreds of animal shelters, veterinary clinics and rescue centres, as well as thousands of families with pets who remain in Ukraine, are struggling to find food for the animals in their care.

However, nothing stops heroic volunteers from driving across Ukraine to hand out free cat food for cat people in need .
