Kotor, a cat lover’s dream town
October 5, 2025Charlie jumped into his new life!

Every rescue story is unique — and little Charlie’s story reminds us that sometimes fate has a whiskered way of finding you. 🐾
Charlie’s story began just two weeks ago in Arizona — and it was pure fate. According to the vet, Charlie is about 20 weeks old, but he already has a big personality and an even bigger heart.
Jeannie had just returned home from a work trip that afternoon, and a little later, as she and her husband were relaxing on the couch, he showed her a post on his phone of a “lost kitten.” Like so many, it was heartbreaking to see another stray in need. “Awww, poor thing,” Jeannie said, not realizing how close that “lost kitten” actually was.
Just minutes later, their neighbor texted to ask if they were home and told them to come outside. When they stepped into their backyard, there he was — the same kitten from the post, sitting calmly on their wall. “It turned out the post was from our neighbor,” Jeannie said, laughing. “We didn’t even notice!”
Their neighbor explained that the kitten had been sitting there for over two hours. Being lifelong cat lovers — with three cats already — Jeannie and her husband knew they had to help. Arizona heat and local predators made it far too dangerous to leave him outside. When her husband approached, the little kitten didn’t hesitate for a second — he jumped straight into his arms.
They brought him inside, set him up in the bathroom with food, water, and a litter box, and began searching for his family. Jeannie posted on all the local lost-and-found pages, took him to the vet to check for a microchip (none was found), and made sure he was healthy. Days passed, and no one came forward.
“We told ourselves we couldn’t really handle a fourth cat,” Jeannie said. “So I reached out to about ten local rescues — but everyone was full. No one could take him.”
At that point, the decision became clear. “What do you do with a lost kitten when no one claims him? You give him a home,” she smiled.
Charlie soon got his vaccinations, was neutered, and officially became part of the family. His three feline siblings are still adjusting to their energetic new brother, but things are settling in beautifully.
“Sometimes you don’t pick a cat — a cat picks you,” Jeannie said. “Charlie seemed very determined to be number four. We’re all adjusting to life with a very active kitten, but we’re enjoying every minute of it.”
Welcome home, Charlie. You’re right where you belong. 🧡
