April 15, 2023What happened to “Youngest Old Cat Lady”?
Ashley Morrison, best known as the “Youngest Old Cat Lady,” a well known kitten rescuer and foster advocate based in Seattle, took her own life a few days ago, leaving her family, followers on Instagram and community in shock.
Since her father passed away, she struggled with mental illness and her battle came to an end last Thursday when she decided to commit suicide after leaving her last words on a ‘goodbye note’ posted on Instagram a few hours earlier.

After seeing her scheduled Instagram post, many people called 911 worried about her well-being, but it was already too late.
Ashley devoted her whole life to saving and caring for cats, particularly kittens in need of fostering.
She strongly advocated for spaying and neutering pets to raise awareness about the high number of kittens that arrive at shelters.

At this point, it is unclear who took over to tend for her foster cats and kittens after her sudden and totally unexpected action of taking her own life. She left behind her own fur babies Jack, Breezy & Blossom.
Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many cats in need and shall never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace Ashley.
