Cat reunited with his owners after 10 years!

Forbes, aged 12, was found looking very thin and with protruding bones. Upon his rescue, Forbes was scanned for a microchip and the owners were rapidly contacted; they said the cat had been missing since 2011 and were very shocked by the news.

Forbes was found less than two miles from where he went missing though they have no way of knowing where Forbes had been all this time or what adventures he might have been on.

Forbes’s family was devastated when they lost him in March 2011 and spent months searching for him. But, after nine months of trying, they gave up hope of ever seeing the cat again, and three years later moved to another city.

His dad said: ‘When Forbes first went missing, we were distraught. We’d had him from when he was a kitten and we had such a special bond. He was such a unique and friendly character, we absolutely adored him.

‘We never thought we would see him again. It’s like a closed chapter has just opened up. It’s a dream come true.”

After ten long years, Forbes is acting like no time has passed at all, even coming into the room and meowing when Neil plays video games late at night – just like he used to back in the day.

At the moment, Forbes is being gradually introduced to the rest of his furry family: their two dogs and the two cats.
