Can’t be a fireman without saving a cat!

Firefighters are amazing people who risk their own lives to rescue anyone and everyone who is in need, this often includes pets.

Many times when it comes to getting families out of a burning house, pets are involved and firefighters will make every effort to find them and pull them to safety.

Cats are at the top of the list when it comes to pet rescues, and firefighters have been known to have to reach odd places to retrieve a feline.

Rooftops and trees are just a couple places firefighters have forged to locate and rescue a frightened or hiding kitty.

More often than not, animals perish due to smoke inhalation as opposed to burns and other injuries. Too much smoke in the lungs can cause the animal to stop breathing.

Firefighters realize the need for quick treatment of oxygen, even for cats, when they’re removed from a burning building.

Fires can break out any time of year, even during a snow. Sometimes the weather can make rescues more difficult and the cold of winter is a time when many house fires do break out due to the use of heating devices in homes.

Some firefighters wait outside the burning building to tend to those who come out, including cats.

Firefighters are very sympathetic and empathetic to cats’ emotions and realize how frightened they must be in a situation like a house fire. They don’t know what to do when they lose track of their owners.
